ROSEMARY BRANCH THEATRE
The Rosemary Branch was once a Victorian music hall, and so theatre and performance are soaked into its beams and rafters. The legend goes that such greats as Charlie Chaplin, Marie Lloyd and many others performed here.
Nowadays, the Rosemary Branch is a buzzing hub of new performance work.
The Rosie Regulars are our extraordinary resident artists making and performing work in-house. All of them are on a mission to bring you fresh theatre, live literature and comedy shows every month.
Shrill Voices is our ongoing programme of new writing by rising female voices in British theatre. Launched in 2019, this exciting iniative brings together rehearsal and development work, training and networking, scratch nights and performances.
Founders: 2016 marked the 20 year anniversary of Cecilia Darker and Cleo Sylvestre as founders and artistic directors of the modern-day Rosemary Branch. They then both decided to take a back seat in order to pursue New Adventures. Under their stewardship, the Rosie blossomed – winning Best Fringe Theatre Award from Fringe Report, Best Neighbourhood Theatre Silver Award from Smooth FM, and Most Welcoming Theatre from the Off West End Awards.
