Best in Class has been providing a platform for working class comics to perform at Edinburgh Fringe since 2018.
With many Best in Class alumni going on to TV, radio and live show success, the showcase is seen by all as a launch pad for working class acts in the comedy industry.
Best in Class has won both the Edinburgh Comedy Award and the Ish Edinburgh Comedy Award, as well as gaining rave reviews in the press.
Described by The Scotsman as “a fantastic crowd-funded initiative which brings working-class comics to the Fringe” (****), “wonderfully funny” (**** Broadway World) and “a great showcase of genuine talent” (**** The Wee Review).
The Best in Class showcase has become one of the hottest tickets in town and now, London, its your only chance to see some of the Best in Class 2025 comedians and Alumni.

Matt Pugsley
Proud Bristolian, Matt Pugsley, may look no nonsense - but he finds the nonsense in everything. Offering a relatable romp through stories of working class misadventure and unorthodox approaches to dealing with whatever life throws his way. From observation quips to uproarious storytelling, from morose to mischievous, he is a versatile performer, guaranteed to be engaging and hilarious throughout. Pugsley has reached the finals of numerous comedy competitions, and proven to be a firm audience favourite.

Ibs Sesay
A North London-based comedian who finds humor in life’s broken aspects: beds, body parts, and Britain. Runner up in the Max Turner Prize and a regular contributor to the cult podcast Wrestle Club UK. With performances at the Wandsworth Fringe and a four-star reviewed show, Organised Chaos, Ibs continues to captivate audiences with his sharp wit and unique perspective.
Gabrielle MacPherson
She has been a finalist in competitions at Leicester Square Theatre and The Stand Up Club, a semi finalist in So you think you’re funny? And placed third in the Max Turner Prize.
