EDFRINGE PREVIEW

GIRAFFE

The only thing worse than being a sociopath? Other people thinking you’re a sociopath.

Eliana's always felt different – and not in a cute way. In fact, she's grown up with a dark secret: she's almost definitely a sociopath. After receiving a teeny-weeny restraining order for stalking her captivating neighbour Tabitha, she has two weeks to convince the court, and herself, that she's "normal".

A semi-autobiographical comedy (zero history of stalking!) about masking, misdiagnosis and the consequences of spending 30 years believing there's something wrong with you. (Also dead parents, queer identity, Jewish identity and being too tall... in no particular order.)

Written and performed by Abigail Weinstock (she/her). As seen in Love and Other Acts of Violence (Donmar Warehouse), Such Brave Girls (BBC) and Surface (Apple TV). She was a ‘Funny Women Awards’ Quarter Finalist in 2020 and a runner up for Jewish Comedian Of The Year in 2017 (and what greater honour could there be).

Directed by Emma Jude Harris (she/her). Her credits include Fringe First Winning production Revenge: After the Levoyah (Summerhall, Soho Theatre) and How I Learned to Swim (Paines Plough Roundabout).

Produced by The Project People. Recent projects include Clean Slate (Summerhall & Pleasant Theatre); Smalltown Boy (Bristol Old Vic & 2026 tour); English Kings Killing Foreigners (co-produced for Soho Theatre) and GISELLE: REMIX (Pleasance Edinburgh & London).
