Rosie Yadid & Laurie Luxe WIPs
Rosie Yadid’s WIP
Cabaret queen, burlesque clown and ‘power packing chanteuse’ (Time Out NY), presents the high flying antics of a vaudeville legend who will not be forgotten. In recounting the life of his late wife, Mimi, Chayim Solonely tells of the greatest star who’s ever lived.
From humble beginnings as a nickel swallowing, tap dancing orphan turned child star, to rubbing shoulders with the mob in Manhattan’s shadiest speakeasies, to the dizzying heights of Hollywood’s notorious studio sets… nobody did it quite like Mimi. But what makes a life worth remembering? What does it mean to be a STAH!?
In her debut solo hour, Rosie Yadid combines burlesque, musical theatre, storytelling and clown in this bittersweet love song to unsung divas and lyrical exploration of Jewish archetypes. Mimi is a surreal surrender to foolish love that’s nostalgic, naughty, silly and striking.
Laurie Luxe’s WIP
Against the grime and punishment of London stands a singular Laurie Luxe. An orphan, a waif, and most importantly - a little cunt. She hasn’t done anything wrong, but she also hasn’t done anything right. Ever. It’s a hard-knock life when you’re out in the cold; will you let her in? See a debut WIP with “style and substance in abundance” (★★★★ Reviewshub) from this “utterly unforgettable” (★★★★★ Corr Blimey) comedy newcomer and co-creator of Voices Of Evil and WonderTwunk. “Camp chaos like no other” (★★★★★ Binge Fringe) “startling and hilarious” (★★★★ The Wee review) ‘Weird, bold, and brilliantly executed. Boy oh boy, you have to see it to believe it’ (★★★★ Ed Fringe Review)
