The Rosemary Branch logo is a moving triangle representing a multi-faceted space. Each plane is a different colour. The triangle shrinks and grows while rotating.

Workshop

Six Viewpoints Workshop - Inventing the Wheel Backwards

Weekly practice sessions for performance makers inspired by the Six Viewpoints theory and practice.

About the workshop

During each session we will spend time practising within the deconstructed framework/s of space, shape, time, emotion, movement and story and examine their expanded possibilities. Participants will be led through practical explorations and structured improvisations with a view to increase flexibility of response, cultivate presence and provide alternative departure points for creation.

About the Six Viewpoints

Originated by choreographer Mary Overlie, the Six Viewpoints is a study that establishes and expands the base of performance by inquiring into the vocabulary of the basic materials that are found in the creation of art. Resulting from Mary’s decades long investigation into the materials and search for a common language of performance, this work (and its many re-iterations) has formed the basis of theatre and dance training around the world as it complements and expands on more traditional forms, simultaneously nurturing artistic agency and a collaborative mind.
